Wood

I am a wood hore.  Love finding, cutting, collecting, splitting, stacking, and burning wood.  It helps keep our house warm and helps me keep healthy and on my toes.  When we go camping & to the beach we always have fires when allowed.  Back when I installed my patio in back, I also built a fire pit.  It is common to have outside fires at our house to cook with and do marshmallows.

Getting wood up above hockinson

Here is my wood collecting vehicle and utility trailer after starting our trek out of the hills up above Hockinson.  When we go up to the east side of Mt. Hood at my father in laws place I take my XR600R out in the early mornings and scout for wood.  When I find a downed tree I put a weigh point into my GPS and then go back and get the van and trailer and head out for wood cutting.

Here is my Stihl MS390 25” bar with a custom fire hose condom.

Future projects that I need and want to do.  Install a magnum ZC wood burning stove and a duratech HT 2100 chimney in our house in place of the existing chimney and fireplace.  Invest in a diesel based wood splitter.  The wood splitter would be used at my house, up at the mountain, and I would also advertise it for hire for splitting services.
